Where can you buy CryptoPunks?

CryptoPunks trade on Ethereum. The original collection has a marketplace built into its contract; wrapped Punks can also trade through compatible NFT marketplaces. Start with the NODE Foundation’s CryptoPunks directory for the official marketplace link, then confirm the Punk number, contract and listing before connecting a wallet.

The native collection is the 10,000-Punk contract at 0xb47e3cd837dDF8e4c57F05d70Ab865de6e193BBB. A wrapped version has a different contract and custody mechanism; a matching image or token number alone does not establish equivalence.

How much does a CryptoPunk cost?

Your starting budget is the current asking price plus transaction costs. The collection floor is the cheapest relevant ask in the observed market, not the average price or a promise that every Punk is worth that amount. Rare types and desirable trait combinations can sell far above it.

For illustration, a 30 ETH ask requires more than 30 ETH available when paying Ethereum transaction fees. That is an example, not a quote. Use the dated listing examples above to inspect actual candidates.

A practical CryptoPunk buying workflow

  1. Choose a candidate, not just a floor number

Compare images, traits and asking prices. Decide whether you want the lowest entry cost or a particular aesthetic. Save the Punk number so you can verify the same asset throughout.

  2. Check the sale evidence

Read recent sales, the candidate’s own history and similar-trait comparables. One old sale or an exceptional transaction is weak evidence of today's value.

  3. Compare the ask with a valuation range

Open the Punk in PunkPredictor. Consider the range, uncertainty and relevant comps together. An ask below an estimate is a research lead, not a guaranteed profit.

  4. Choose an offer or an immediate purchase

An asking price and a bid represent different sides of the market. Check the marketplace's current process, whether a bid locks ETH, and whether the offer is public or directed to a specific address. A seller is not obliged to accept your bid.

  5. Verify the transaction and ownership

Check the website through the official directory, the contract, token number, recipient and total transaction cost. Read what the wallet asks you to sign. After confirmation, verify the resulting holding and save the transaction record.

Native, wrapped and V1 Punks are different routes

The native marketplace operates on the original V2 market contract. Wrapping places a Punk in a contract that issues a compatible token; unwrapping reverses that process under that wrapper's rules. V1 Punks refer to the earlier contract and have a separate market. Check exactly which asset and wrapper a listing offers rather than treating the same Punk number across contracts as interchangeable.

See the original contract documentation and the marketplace linked by NODE. Marketplace interfaces and wrapper support can change.

Questions before your first purchase

Can I still mint an original CryptoPunk?

The original 10,000 have already been claimed. Buying an existing Punk is a secondary-market transaction; a new website promising an original collection mint is not the original issuance.

Is the cheapest Punk the best value?

Not necessarily. Entry cost, traits, comparable sales and your own preferences matter. Below-model-value listings are a different concept from lowest-priced listings.

Do I need a paid account to begin researching?

You can read these public prices and sale records without connecting a wallet. Open a specific Punk to see available analysis; member features and current access options are explained in the app.

Sources, scope and update policy

Published by PunkPredictor Research. Figures are refreshed daily from our public-market records, subject to source validation. The observation timestamp is shown with the data; this page is a saved snapshot, not a live order book.

Sales tables include positive-price native-market records labeled CryptoPunksMarket, deduplicated by transaction and Punk. Same-address sales and the specified #9998 and #1563 flash-loan events are excluded. Wrapped venues, private transactions, auction allocations and unknown-source records are outside this series. This is not a guarantee that every remaining transaction is an independent market sale.

USD figures use that day's available ETH/USDT observation as an approximate dollar conversion. Missing exchange-rate days remain missing. Changes in the collection floor are not investment returns for an individual Punk and exclude fees.
