Value and liquidity are different questions

CryptoPunks still have a secondary market, but a market price does not make every Punk easy to sell. The useful questions are what buyers have actually paid, how often trades happen, and whether the current asking price is supported by comparable sales. The evidence below puts those questions in context.

The recorded CryptoPunks floor is 29.96 ETH, 75.84% below the highest daily ETH floor in this series: 124.00 ETH on 2021-10-18. This is a collection asking-price benchmark, not a guarantee that any individual Punk can sell at that price.

The highest daily USD floor in the matched-FX series was approximately $464,375 on 2021-10-18; the current matched-FX value is $75,369. ETH and USD peaks need not occur on the same day.

Are Punks still trading?

In the 30 complete days ending 2026-09-07 (exclusive), this native-market sample contains 84 sales totaling 3,383.56 ETH, versus 62 sales in the preceding 30 days. This measures completed trades in a defined venue sample, not days-to-sell or guaranteed liquidity.

The listing snapshot contains 1,163 public native-market asks. A high asking price is not evidence of demand: compare it with recent completed sales and active bids.

What does a CryptoPunks price crash measure?

Drawdown measures the decline from a previous peak. A fall in the collection floor can reflect changing asks, buyer demand and the mix of Punks offered. A USD drawdown also includes the price of ETH. Neither directly measures every holder's profit or loss.

The ETH comparison above answers whether the collection floor rose or fell relative to simply holding ETH over the same dates. The USD columns show how the crypto exchange rate changes the result. These are benchmark comparisons, not a backtest of a tradable portfolio.

Why can CryptoPunks retain value?

The collection has a fixed supply of 10,000, a 2017 origin and an established collecting history. Those facts can explain collector interest; they do not create a guaranteed price floor. Distinguish the historical significance of the artwork from today's willingness to buy a particular Punk.

• Completed sales and their spread—not just the lowest ask.
• Changes in active listings and concentration of supply.
• Both ETH and USD results over matching periods.
• The sale history and comparables of the Punk they actually own.

Sales tables include positive-price native-market records labeled CryptoPunksMarket, deduplicated by transaction and Punk. Same-address sales and the specified #9998 and #1563 flash-loan events are excluded. Wrapped venues, private transactions, auction allocations and unknown-source records are outside this series. This is not a guarantee that every remaining transaction is an independent market sale.

USD figures use that day's available ETH/USDT observation as an approximate dollar conversion. Missing exchange-rate days remain missing. Changes in the collection floor are not investment returns for an individual Punk and exclude fees.
